Transformation of family values of Belarusians in the regional context
Abstract
This paper is devoted to the transformation of family values in Belarus and neighbor countries. It evaluates how global and regional trends are manifested in the change in family values of Belarusians. Based on recent research, it is concluded that changes in family values in the region are multidirectional: on the one hand, significance of family and marriage is growing; on the other hand, the necessity to combine professional and family roles of women is getting more popular. Both tendencies are more visible in Belarus. Women in Belarus are a social group, which, firstly, strengthens traditional ideas about the family and, secondly, supports the ideas of gender equality in the family.
