Interrelation between cognitive-style characteristics of students in air traffic control and indicator of success of simulation training

Abstract

An important task in the professional training of future air traffic controllers is the cognitive-style characteristics: field dependence and field independence, impulsivity and reflexivity, and rigidity and flexibility of cognitive control. As a result of the study, it was found that air traffic controllers in comparison with cadets have statistically higher indicators of field independence, as well as reflectivity (at the level of trends). Positive correlations of indicators of field independence and reflectivity and negative correlations of indicators of attitution rigidity and sensitive rigidity with the success of training cadets were revealed. Such cognitive-style characteristics as field independence and reflectivity influence the success of training cadets.
