Abstract

The activities of analytical centres in the Republic of Belarus are examined. The history of their creation is described. The main goals and objectives of such institutions are noted, as well as their impact on the development of society and the state. The factors that determined the formation of analytical centres in the post-Soviet period are identified. It is emphasised that in the conditions of uncertainty, economic and political transformations inherent in the post-Soviet period, a multi-vector system of analytical structures specialising in research of various areas of public policy has developed in the country. Special attention is paid to the work of analytical centres formed on the basis of higher education institutions. Such centres are actively engaged in monitoring public opinion, carrying out information-analytical, consulting and other activities. The export capabilities of analytical centres and the forms of their participation in socio-economic and political processes are represented. The difficult path of formation and reform of this organisations in the process of gradual adaptation to the conditions of new times is traced. It is concluded that analytical centres represent the most important tool for strategic planning, political and managerial decisions and the development of recommendations in the areas of socio-economic and political development of the state.
